Take some of the hassle out of towing your car with this fuse bypass system. FuseMaster replaces your vehicle's FMX fuse and lets you prep for towing by simply flipping a switch. Integrated holder keeps fuses secure and functional.

Features:

  • Bypasses towed car's FMX fuse so you can tow your vehicle without draining its battery
    • Provides a simple alternative to removing fuse every time you tow
    • Stores fuse so that you won't lose it
  • Installs quickly, easily and permanently
    • Remove fuse from car's battery compartment and install FuseMaster in its place
    • Put fuse into FuseMaster fuse holder
    • Mount bypass switch in center console
  • Maintains functionality of fuse when switched on
    • Flip switch to "Drive" position and drive like normal
  • Overrides fuse when switched off
    • Flip switch to "Tow" position and you're good to tow
  • Fuse controller allows the high current fuse to be turned off/on without sending high current through the switch
  • Application: FMX fuses rated at 50 amps
  • Made in the USA

Some cars can be towed only if you get under the hood and pull a fuse or fuses. If you don't remove these fuses before towing, there's a good chance that your battery will be drained by the time you reach your destination.

Roadmaster's FuseMaster makes it easy to prep your vehicle for towing. Simply remove the fuses indicated in your owner's manual and replace them with the bypass. The system will hold the removed fuses and maintain their functionality. So, once the initial installation is complete, you don't have to remove or replace your fuses again.

Whenever you want to drive your car, just make sure the switch on the bypass is flipped into the "Drive" position. When the bypass system is on, the fuse will be active and your vehicle will function normally. Then, when it comes time to tow, switch the FuseMaster to "Tow." Doing this will render the fuse inactive so that you can flat tow your car without its battery being drained.

Installation

This bypass installs inside your vehicle's engine compartment. To mount the FuseMaster switch, route the harness up to your center console. You will have to drill access holes in the console to run the FuseMaster through and to mount the switch.

Roadmaster FuseMaster Switch

Included with the FuseMaster are 2 stickers: "Drive" and "Tow." Once the switch is installed, you can place the stickers on your console - one on each side of the toggle - to remind you which way the switch must go for each application. Place the "Drive" sticker on the side of the toggle that has the white dot. (To drive your car, the switch must be flipped so that the side with the white dot is depressed.) The "Tow" sticker can then be placed on the opposite side.

The product was ok other than the switch. It is hard to tell if it is on or off. I wound up just using the fuse holder as it is easier to pull the fuse out. Other than that was great service.

by:

Does what it is intended to do. Took a little time to install but it came with all the instructions I required, and it all looks and works great!

by:

This has saved us so much time! Popping the hood and physically pulling the fuses on our vehicle every time we stop gets old quickly. This system was easy to install with the step-by-step video and works flawlessly.

by:

Ordered and install base plate over a year ago and finally got to use it a couple of weeks ago because motorhome was in shop waiting on parts. Pandemic and supply chain issues. Anyway, the base plate and accessories work great. Dinghy tracks well. Hardly know it’s back there.

by:

Better than opening the hood every time we tow.

by:

Installed as per installation video and all went great.

  • Roadmaster FuseMaster Fuse Bypasses Needed For a 2013 Chevrolet Equinox
As per GM Technical Service Bulletin 17-NA-348, GM has identified 4-cylinder models of your 2013 Chevrolet Equinox as having steering instability issues while towing. If you have a 4-cylinder model, you will need a FuseMaster # RM-76517 instead of the FuseMaster # RM76511, and will need to leave fuse DLIS #32 intact and pull the ABS module fuse located under the hood. Note: due to manufacturing variances, some 4-cylinder models may label the ABS module fuse as #15 or #16. You will also...

  • Recommended Components Needed When Flat-Towing 2014 GMC Acadia Behind Motorhome
If you are flat-towing your 2014 GMC Acadia behind your 2015 Fleetwood there are 5 things you will need. You will need base plates for the Acadia, a tow bar, safety cables, wiring for the Acadia for lights, and most states now require a supplemental brake system. First I recommend the Roadmaster EZ Base Plate Kit, part # 523149-1. With the hidden brackets, these are virtually invisible when the drawbars are removed. The tow bar I recommend is the RoadMaster Falcon 2 Tow Bar, part #...

In addition to the base plates and the tow bar you will also need safety cables, lighting, and supplemental braking to flat tow the vehicle. For safety cables you can use # RM-643. The...

The Falcon 2, # RM-520, and the Falcon all-terrain, # RM-522 are rated for 6,000 pounds each. I did some research on the 2008 Saturn Outlook at found that its gross vehicle weight rating is 6,400 pounds but its curb weight is 4,722 pounds.
